“Discovering” is my favorite part of running this blog – getting to explore a new location, staying at a unique hotel, trying a regional dish, learning the history of a Swiss brand.
For those who grow up in Switzerland, local products and experiences are the norm, but for expats, knowing, doing, and shopping local is an insight and a small badge of integration achievement.
Today I want to tell you about ananné, a premium natural skincare brand produced entirely in Switzerland, that I had the chance to discover at their recent re-launch event, and that I’m proud to work with this year.*
Founded in 2009 and managed by a small team on Lake Zürich, ananné is produced entirely in Switzerland.
The founder, Urs Pohlman, MD PhD, was always fascinated with how active ingredients in plants can promote regeneration of the skin, and after years of research began developing his own cosmetics (the name ananné stands for “ana-neosis”, which means rebirth or regeneration in Greek).
His philosophy to produce everything organically and sustainably led to ananné being clean, organic, vegan skincare, certified by NaTrue (The international Natural and Organic Cosmetics Association).
Today it’s an exclusive, high-quality Swiss product with conscious packaging and a marketing strategy that relies on word of mouth rather than marketing hype.
In September I was invited to attend the ananné re-launch event at the historic Signau House & Garden in Zürich. Built in 1912, the villa was once an office of Universal Studios and many a 20th-century celebrity have walked through its doors – a fittingly special location for a special brand.
Ananné used the occasion to introduce a new range of products and packaging to an audience of 70 guests and friends of the brand.
The range is impressive: whether you’re looking for skincare, hair or body care, creams, lotions, an addition to your daily routine, or special treatment – you will find a luxurious organic option with the brand.
One of my favorites was the “Must have – Travel Set” that we received in the goodie bag.
It contains six essentials in mini-size: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, facial cleanser, detox mask, and 24h cream, and it’s a great way to try the brand (or, if you’re like me and love to carry half your life in your bag, it’s a great way to always have your favorite cream and lotion on the go).
If you’re looking to splurge, the Solacium serum is packed with powerful active ingredients, smells like wellness in a bottle, and feels amazing on the skin.
Thank you ananné for inviting me to discover your world!
